H.O.M. Repatriote School

Port-Au-Prince, Haiti
WE Design and Build.Found

A new compound in Menatas, aka Repatriote, a relatively new settlement on the northern edge of Porte-au-Prince.  The project involves the reconstruction of an existing church which was destroyed in the January 12, 2010 earthquake, and a new school, clinic and support facilities for this community of approximately 75,000 residents.  We are employing various strategies to deal sensibly with phased construction of this relatively large project in order to integrate seismic resistance and responsible resource conservation (rainwater and well water collection, solar photovoltaic arrays).  We are working hard to develop strategies which include the builders in the design process and encourage the buildings to act as constructed demonstrations of their earthquake resistance techniques.
